Mega Man (NES Game) (Rockman in Japan) is a 2D platformer released by Capcom for the NES in 1987. It was Capcom's first major game released for consoles and it started the Mega Man franchise.

Info[]

With the gaming franchise once again heading off with the NES, nintendo acquired Capcom under it's large collection of supporters. Capcom needed a mascot to gain popularity, and in due time, Megaman was born. He soon starred in his own game, Megaman, which was released in the late 80's for the Famicon Disk System and NES. It overall didn't sell very well, and Capcom head officials originally pulled the plug on Mega Man, but in the end, an award winning sequel was released to critical extent. It also recieved a remake for the PSP called Mega Man Powered Up which features new content such as new levels and the ability to make your own levels.

SomecallmeJohnny[]

Johnny reviewed this game during the Mega Man Marathon, giving it mutual praise, stating that while he found the game enjoyable, he saw better games in the franchise. Despite razzing on "archaic" design elements, it was saved the disgrace of being the worst classic Mega Man game by Mega Man and Bass.
