Sonic 3CD & Knuckles & Knuckles was a result in Month of Sonic 2 when Johnny and Elliot combined every Sonic game for Sega Genesis/CD to see what the result was. It ended up being a glitch game. The fan created version of this game was released in 2013 by LucasMaxBros of DeviantART and shortly after, a second version of the game was released.
